Outreach teams

Providing quality and comprehensive family planning services across 12 of Timor-Leste's municipalities

Travelling to remote locations across 12 municipalities

With 70% of the population living in rural areas, we work in partnership with the Ministry of Health to provide essential services to high-need and low-access communities.

Support from the Australian Embassy in Timor-Leste allows us to deliver a broad range of outreach services at Ministry of Health facilities in some of the most remote communities, free of charge to clients.

Our locations

Our outreach teams

The teams often work in difficult and hard to reach locations in 12 municipalities in Timor-Leste: Dili, Bobanaro, Baucau, Viqueque, Lautem, Ermera, Ainaro, Oé-Cusse, Aileu, Liquica, Manufahi and Manatuto.

Our outreach teams are comprised of both experienced clinical and health promotion staff. Team members consist of individuals from the local communities in which we work, ensuring we always have people on hand who speak local languages and have good working relationships with government partners.

We offer our outreach services to those with the greatest cost and location barriers to accessing services, ensuring we travel to the hardest to reach and most underserved parts of the country.

Accessing family planning services through the Marie Stopes Outreach teams has helped me and my whole family. They provide important family planning services not available elsewhere. I don’t know what we would have done without help.

What you can always expect

The Marie Stopes Timor-Leste outreach teams are driven to provide comprehensive, non-judgmental family planning information and services.

We are dedicated to providing the same quality of service as we offer at our Family Health Clinic. This means following national Ministry of Health guidelines and meeting international best practice standards. Everything we do is to ensure our clients receive the best possible health care from our caring, competent and experienced health care professionals.
